JAKARTA – Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK Council) admitted that he often asked about the progress of treatment Harun Masiku . This was conveyed in a supervisory coordination meeting with the Corruption Eradication Commission.
This was stated by the Chairman of the KPK Council, Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean, responding to his party’s role in the fugitive Harun Masiku.
“Regarding Harun Masiku, the Supervisory Board in supervisory coordination meetings has asked the leadership several times about updates on the progress of the arrest of Harun Masiku,” said Tumpak at the KPK Anti-Corruption Education Center Building, Jakarta, Monday (15/1/2024).
The KPK has made various efforts to find Harun Masiku. One of them is by sending officers to the Philippines. However, these efforts have not yet produced results.
“Everything was reported to Dewas. Some of them also went to the Philippines to look for Harun Masiku but until now they haven’t found him,” he explained.
As previously reported, former Indonesian KPU Commissioner for the 2017-2022 period, Wahyu Setiawan, challenged the KPK to arrest Harun Masiku. He wondered why he was the only one arrested.
Wahyu, who was examined in the investigation into the alleged bribery case for the appointment of members of the DPR RI for the 2019-2024 period, Harun Masiku admitted that he had provided complete information to KPK investigators. Wahyu admitted that he was surprised because the Harun Masiku case had been stalled for almost four years regarding the alleged bribery for processing interim replacements (PAW) for DPR members for 2019-2024.
“I question why the KPK didn’t immediately arrest Harun Masiku. Can the KPK arrest me? Why couldn’t Harun Masiku be arrested,” said Wahyu in the lobby of the KPK’s Red and White Building, Thursday 28 December 2023.
Wahyu said that if he knew Harun Masiku’s hiding place, he would definitely cooperate with the KPK.
“If I knew (Harun Masiku’s position), I would arrest him to help the KPK,” said Wahyu.
