Dex Carvey, Son of Comedian Dana Carvey, Dead at 32 from Accidental Drug Overdose

Dex Carvey, the son of comedian Dana Carvey, tragically passed away on Wednesday night from an “accidental drug overdose,” as confirmed by the former Saturday Night Live star and his wife. He was 32 years old.

In a signed post on social media, Carvey and his wife, Paula Zwagerman, shared their heartfelt tribute to their son, describing him as a talented individual with a passion for music, art, filmmaking, and comedy.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office reported that Dex was pronounced dead at his home, and his girlfriend, Kaylee, had called paramedics after he had apparently locked himself in the bathroom. The official cause of death has not been determined.

Following his father’s footsteps, Dex was also a comedian and had opened for his father’s 2016 Netflix special, Straight White Male. He also had appearances in the 2013 miniseries The Funster and Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser (2015). Survivors include his younger brother, Thomas.

Dex’s passing has left a void in the entertainment industry and the hearts of his family and friends. His loved ones remember him as someone who loved life and made everything fun. Our thoughts are with the Carvey family during this difficult time.
