This space allows visitors to learn about the different structures made available to citizens by the DGSN with a view to involving them in the fight against all forms of violence committed against women and children, and to highlight the role of the units responsible for this mission, including the central supervision and monitoring unit, as well as the decentralised reception and listening units.
The Comptroller General and Head of the Department of Affairs Relating to Family and Public Morals at the Directorate of the Judicial Police, Maryama El Iraqi, explained that the Directorate has made 137 listening and reception cells available to citizens, noting that police stations also have 445 listening offices.
Ms. El Iraqi also stressed that violence against women manifests itself in different forms, including physical, psychological, economic, sexual and violence through modern technologies, adding that the aim of this stand is also to raise awareness of the role of juvenile brigades. In this regard, she specified that brochures were made available to visitors containing advice for children in the event of sexual assault and the procedures to follow to report such abuse.
The 5th edition of the DGSN Open Days, which coincides with the celebration of the 68th anniversary of the creation of the General Directorate of National Security, was kicked off on Thursday evening in Agadir, under the theme “National security: citizenship and solidarity”. This citizen initiative aims to inform the public about the modernization efforts implemented by the DGSN to ensure the safety of people and property and preserve public order.
The DGSN Open Days began in 2016 in Casablanca and have become an annual event that allows the general public to discover the various facets of the police profession.
