On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, where the entire country was immersed in celebrations and there were many parties in Bollywood, Dharmendra became emotional remembering his close friend and actor Dilip Kumar. Dharmendra and Dilip Kumar had a very strong friendship. Dilip Kumar had supported Dharmendra in difficult times, and since then they had become friends. Dharmendra considered Dilip Kumar as his elder brother. He used to celebrate Eid with Dilip Kumar every year. Now when Eid came on 11th April, Dharmendra also remembered Dilip Kumar. Dharmendra and Dilip Kumar used to celebrate every Eid together
The relationship between Dharmendra and Dilip Kumar was similar. Be it Eid-ul-Fitr or Eid-al-Adha, every time Hema Malini and Dharmendra would go to friend Dilip Kumar’s house and celebrate Eid there. On every Eid, both of them would feed each other with love. By the way, Dharmendra often used to visit Dilip Kumar’s house. And whenever he went, he would return only after having food.

Dharmendra came to become a hero in films only after seeing Dilip Kumar. After watching the film ‘Shaheed’ in 1952, Dharmendra was so inspired that he came to Mumbai from Ludhiana. At that time Dharmendra left from there, but later through sister Farida, Dharmendra got a meeting fixed to meet Dilip Kumar. And when both of them met, they met as if they were brothers.
