New Delhi: The central government has introduced an affordable diabetes pill.

In this regard, the Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued a statement: 10 tablets of 50 mg of ‘Sitagliptin’ have been introduced for people with diabetes at 60 rupees. The same tablet is 100 mg, 10 tablets are available for Rs 100.

Similarly, a combination of sitagliptin and metformin hydrochloride of 50 mg, and 500 mg, 10 tablets will be sold at Rs 65 and 10 tablets of 1000 mg will be sold at Rs 70.

People with diabetes currently spend between Rs 162 and Rs 258 to buy 10 tablets. These affordable tablets are available at PM People’s Pharmacies.

Operating at 8,700 locations across the country, these pharmacies sell more than 1,600 quality medicines and 250 medical devices at affordable prices. Here, a sanitary napkin is available for one rupee, it says.
