Title: Diablo 4 Directors Drop Exciting Hint About the Coveted Cow Level at BlizzCon 2023

Date: [Current Date]

At BlizzCon 2023, IGN had the opportunity to sit down with Diablo 4 production director Tiffany Wat and associate game director Joe Piepiora, and they revealed a tantalizing clue about the legendary Cow Level that has captivated players for years.

Since Season 2 of Diablo 4 began, players have been on a quest to uncover the secrets of the Cow Level, an urban legend that has now become a popular meme within the game community. However, recent developments indicate that the mystery may finally be unraveling.

Players have discovered that by killing 666 cows, they can earn three “Items of Great Significance” one at a time. Although they can only obtain one relic per week, it appears that combining all three unlocks an opportunity to craft a key for accessing the Forlorn Hovel. Many speculate that this location might hold the elusive portal to Diablo 4’s Cow Level.

Eager to delve deeper into this community revelation, IGN posed questions to Wat and Piepiora during the interview. The directors responded with light-hearted banter, demonstrating their awareness of the cow-slaying activities happening in the game.

After the mention of the Cow Level, Piepiora jokingly quipped, “Did you say Cow Level?” This prompted an affirmative response from IGN’s Matt Kim. Wat also chimed in, stating, “Sounds udderly ridiculous. I mean, I think I have heard that a lot of players have been out there slaying cows.”

Piepiora further mused, “Just poor innocent cows in the countryside of Diablo?” to which Wat humorously replied, “Poor, innocent cows in Sanctuary. I mean, Sanctuary is not a good place to be, even as a cow. I will say, however, if people have picked up any items from their cow campaign… cow slay-age campaign… they should hang on to them.”

During the interview, Piepiora playfully dismissed Wat’s remarks, adding an air of mystery to the ongoing Cow Level quest.

While the Cow Level remains an enigma, Blizzard did announce that Diablo 4’s first expansion, titled “Vessel of Hatred,” is set to release in late 2024. Taking place in a region named Nahantu, the expansion will revolve around Mephisto and his schemes for Sanctuary. Additionally, players can anticipate the introduction of a never-before-seen Diablo class.
