With the recent announcement of Diablo IV’s new seasonal model, some players may have been disappointed to learn that each battle pass will require a brand new character. However, there is good news to balance out this requirement. Changes to the level prerequisites for some of the game’s most powerful items will allow characters to become stronger at a faster pace.

In Diablo IV, the pursuit of power is a central focus for players. The game offers a branching skill tree and a wide array of exceptional loot to equip, allowing players to manifest their strength in numerous ways. Among the means of gaining incredible power are Sacred and Ancestral loot. These items, however, have proven to be challenging to acquire. Not only do they require players to reach World Tiers III and IV respectively, but they also demand characters to reach level 100 to equip them. Fortunately, all of that is about to change when Season 1 arrives.

In an interview with GameStar, Blizzard revealed that with the introduction of Season 1, the level prerequisites for Sacred and Ancestral loot will be adjusted. While World Tier requirements will remain the same, players will only need to reach level 60 to equip Sacred loot and level 80 for Ancestral items. This reduction in level requirements is a significant improvement, making it much easier for players to obtain and utilize powerful equipment.

Blizzard emphasized these changes as they discussed the alterations in detail during the interview. Although level 80 is still a significant milestone to achieve, the lower level 60 requirement for Sacred items provides a more accessible and enjoyable gameplay experience. Additionally, the ability to share loot across different character builds through chests in the game’s towns further enhances players’ progression and enjoyment.

The first season of Diablo IV, named Season of the Malignant, is set to commence on July 20. Players will be required to create a new character in the game’s seasonal realm. Blizzard has provided comprehensive information on how to prepare for the new season, ensuring a straightforward transition for players.

As the seasons progress, Diablo IV will introduce new quest lines and enemies, including the formidable malignant enemies. While the extent of these new threats remains uncertain, players can take solace in the fact that the updated level prerequisites for Sacred and Ancestral loot will allow for smoother progression and access to superior gear. This improvement will undoubtedly make the upcoming season, as well as future ones, more enjoyable and rewarding for players.
