Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Work with Diaspora is on a visit to Malaysia Fuad Muradov met with the Deputy Minister of National Unity of this country, Senator Saraswathy Kandasami.

Thanking for the warm welcome, the chairman of the state committee spoke in detail about the diaspora policy of the Azerbaijani state, the foundations of which were laid by national leader Heydar Aliyev, and successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, about the activities of the state committee, projects implemented so that compatriots living abroad do not forget about your national identity.
At a meeting held at the Malaysian Institute of Translation & Books, the head of the institution, Noor Amin Ahmad, expressed satisfaction with the close cooperation with the State Committee for Work with Diaspora and the Azerbaijani Embassy in Malaysia, noting that in Currently, the book “Ürəkdə yazı”, consisting of the works of Azerbaijani writers, is being published, calling the book a fruitful result of trilateral cooperation.
Saying that one of the activities of the state committee is the development of relations with peoples friendly to Azerbaijan, the chairman noted that throughout the year they support the publication of books in different languages.
In addition, meetings were also held with the Ambassador of Turkey to Malaysia, Amir Salim Yuksel, and the head of the representative office of the Yunus Emre Institute in Malaysia, Omar Altun.
During the visit, the chairman of the state committee gave an interview to the state television and radio channel of Malaysia and the influential television channel of the Southeast Asian region “Awani Global”, spoke about the current level and prospects for the development of Azerbaijani-Malaysian relations, COP29, the role of Azerbaijan in the energy security of Europe, the former Karabakh conflict, plans of the official Baku in the name of peace and security in the South Caucasus.
Another meeting was held with the teaching staff of the University of Malaya and the University of Putra Malaya, presentations were made about Azerbaijan. Information about the Karabakh conflict, the liberation of Azerbaijani lands under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev from 30 years of occupation in just 44 days, and the peace agenda of official Baku attracted the attention of the teaching staff. Professor of the University of Malaya Roy Anthony Rogers said that he visited the lands of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation and saw mosques and historical and cultural monuments destroyed by the Armenians.
The following meetings took place at the Selangor Public Library Corporation and the National Library of Malaysia. It was emphasized that the best way to bring peoples closer together is culture, that the exchange of books and interlibrary cooperation also contribute to the development of Azerbaijani-Malaysian relations, therefore the state committee annually provides support for the publication of dozens of books in different languages.
At the end of the meetings, books about Azerbaijan, published with the support of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora, were presented to universities and libraries.
