At the beginning of April, the police officers of the Prienai district promptly arrested a long-fingered man who was “cleaning” garden sheds in the village of Papilvios, Veiveriau sen., Prienai district. It turns out that in just a few days, the man broke into five garden houses located in the village of Papilvi and stole various items and food products. In total, the loss caused to property owners amounts to more than 1,000 euros.
24 years old a man stole Internet modems, garden and household tools, food and alcoholic beverages, a mobile phone and an installed video surveillance camera in garden sheds. A person already known to police officers was identified thanks to smart IT equipment and the installed latest security technologies. And following the hot tracks and reports of the victims, the long-toed was found and detained in one of the garden sheds along with part of the stolen “catch”.
It turned out that the man was convicted of identical crimes, served part of his sentence and was released on parole. However, he did not learn from his previous life experience. After being released on parole, he disappeared after serving his sentence, so the authorities were already searching for him.
Prieni district police officers have opened a pre-trial investigation against a person for theft and he faces a fine or arrest, or restriction of liberty, or deprivation of liberty for up to six years.
Taking into account thefts not only from garden sheds, but also from homesteads, garages or items and equipment left at home, police officers recommend that you take care of your home security and, if possible, install modern video surveillance cameras, alarms or other home security systems.
We wish you a safe spring.
