In his opinion, the right-wing government will promote measures that are closer to his economic worldview, but he thinks that the motives for this will not be the same as his – “Now I think that the government will promote measures that I was part of yesterday, but overall they will be very populist in the bad sense of the word.”

As part of Aryeh Deri’s election promises, he proposed the food stamp program for the poor and needy. According to Huminer-Rosenblum, who was the advisor to the Minister of Labor and Welfare Itzik Shmuli, he did this in the past as well and it happened “because he wanted to make political capital out of it”, Huminer-Rosenblum emphasized and explained that the action was aimed at his constituents and not the poor in general. “Insist that it be in the Ministry of the Interior and not in the Ministry of Welfare and insist on criteria of being recommended by professionals, but mostly adapted to ultra-Orthodox families.”
