Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai has questioned whether the DMK is aware that the CUET has been in operation since 2010.
CUET Entrance Exam
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed all Central Universities in India to conduct public entrance examinations for undergraduate courses in the coming academic year. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is scheduled to take place in the first week of July. In this situation, Chief Minister MK Stalin brought a separate resolution in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly yesterday against this entrance examination. The Central Government has announced that admission to Central Universities will be by entrance examination irrespective of Class XII marks.
Resolution brought by the Chief Minister
This will reduce the enrollment of students who have studied in the state curriculum. There is a risk of developing canker sores in training centers. With this, the Central Government should abolish the public entrance examination for undergraduate courses in Central Universities, ‘Stalin demanded. The AIADMK also supported the resolution brought by the Chief Minister. Following this, a separate resolution brought by Chief Minister Stalin against the CEUT entrance test was passed in the legislature. The BJP walked out in protest of the resolution.
Annamalai question
Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai has protested against the passage of a resolution in the Tamil Nadu Assembly against the ‘Cute’ election. In a post on his Facebook page, he said, “The resolution passed by the DMK in the state assembly against the CUET election system seems to have overturned the past dual positions of the DMK! Doesn’t DMK know that this exam has been in CUCET practice since 2010? Doesn’t the DMK know that the Central University operating in Thiruvarur has been admitting students in this examination system since 2010? Or, did the DMK pass a resolution against the CUET exam as the exam is now being held in Tamil as never before? ” Annamalai has questioned,
