DQ: Discovering exoplanets has opened up a new dimension to understanding our place in the cosmos. The emergence of life is a profound mystery that compels us to explore the fundamental laws of the Universe.
Q: Do you believe scientific discoveries necessitate a belief in God?
DQ: I see no need for a divine plan in the origin of the Universe or life. Our scientific understanding is enough to explain the wonders of the cosmos.
Q: What is your vision for the future of humanity?
DQ: We must focus on using our knowledge and technology responsibly to address the challenges facing our planet and ensuring our survival.
Q: Were you raised in a religious tradition?
DQ: I had a Catholic upbringing, but I never experienced divine inspiration. However, I find inspiration in the great religious buildings and the faith of others.
Q: What is your message to the world?
DQ: Knowledge is a fundamental human right. By embracing scientific exploration, we can expand our understanding of the Universe and our place within it.
