As found by the report, the bus with about 28 passengers on the Cuiabá/Campo Grande route was heading to the city’s bus station, when the driver possibly confused the roundabout with the entrance to the second lane and lost control of the steering wheel. The two-story vehicle with 48 seats stopped on the side of the highway. It was foggy and raining at the time, which may have contributed to the accident.

The 51-year-old driver and the injured passengers were rescued by CCR MSVia, the concessionaire that manages the highway, and the Fire Department. The occurrence was attended by the PRF (Federal Highway Police), Civil Police and Technical Expertise. There is still no information about the cause of the accident.

By telephone, the company’s press office said that two representatives were sent to the municipality and are providing full support to the injured and their families. The bus had left Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, and had Campo Grande as its final destination.
