Diego Alonso has stopped being the technician of the Sevilla. The Andalusian club issued a statement a few minutes after the resounding defeat against Getafe (0-3) in which it announced the dismissal of the Uruguayan coach, who has not managed to reverse the team’s negative dynamics.
Alonso is the second coach that Sevilla kills after José Luis Mendilíbar. The Andalusian team could fall into the relegation zone on this day in case Cádiz scores points in its visit to Las Palmas.
Diego Alonso’s numbers on the Sevilla bench have been really bad. He has not won a game in the League, he has lost all four matches in the Champions League, and his only victories have come in the Copa del Rey, against CD Quintanar and Atlético Astorga. His total balance is five draws and seven defeats counting all competitions.
