On show the artist’s photographs taken with a latest generation smartphone (Xiaomi) during the preview days of the Biennale

It is an immediate and impressive account of the days of the preview of the 59th Venice Biennale of art (The milk of dreamsedited by Cecilia Alemani, until November 27), fundamental appointment for contemporary creativity.A diary-reportage punctuated by images taken with a latest generation smartphone (technical name: Xiaomi 12 Pro) by Lady Tarin, photographer and artist from Romagna for some time happily engaged in the definition of a new female universe.

The exhibition Art Tales

(open until 6 June in the Project Room of Marignana Arte in Venice) offers a surprising catalog of smiles, reflections, amazements, movements, weariness, enthusiasm, impulsesthat the photographer wanted to capture by immortalizing an extended temporal ensemble, alien to the rhythms marked by the alternation of day and night: “It is a flow, a topography, a cosmography of personality that develops through images, through encounters – explains Lady Tarin -, in which the prevailing desire is the will for knowledge, inspiration, to be present where art dominates the scene and reverberates its evolutionary force ».

Art Tales

it is, therefore, the summary of this story, an album of clear but not superficial images, indeed very often very “profound”. Thus, here are the evocative fragments of the Italian Pavilion (sponsored by Xiaomi, a Chinese consumer electronics company with smartphones and interconnected smart devices) and therefore of that fascinating Story of a Night and Destiny of Comets
, installation conceived and curated by Eugenio Viola with Gian Maria Tosatti as the protagonist (also portrayed by Lady Tarin). Here are the many, many people (in the days before the opening never so numerous before this edition) walking between the Arsenal, the Gardens, the National Pavilions and the interventions site-specific in the heart of Venice in search of new suggestions. Here, again the Brazilian artist and performer Jota Mombaça who on the island of San Giacomo in Paludo, the new creative headquarters in the Lagoon of the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation, re-proposes with the curatorship of Hans Ulrich Obrist In the the tired watering
e
la performance Apocalypse with figures
staged in 1975, on the occasion of the Biennale del Teatro, by director Jerzy Grotowski: a very current reflection on the concerns of the climate and environmental crisis “with the awareness of the imminence of a possible planetary catastrophe”.

After the documentaries on the construction site of the Italian Pavilion (Story of a Night and Destiny of Comets. The making of
) and after the more classic Venice by night
Lady Tarin experiences a different digital potential for the first timeemphasizing the opportunity that the light dimension of a smartphone allows, to immortalize young muses, minds and talents, places and works that have come to life in an exhibition where analog and digital meet to involve the public in a truly unique experience .

«Confronting myself with a new medium for the first time was a fascinating challenge – says the artist and photographer -. I was amazed by the potential that associated with an artistic gaze can contribute to creating something surprising. This work has a reportage spiritbut capable of capturing also the human dynamics in the relationship between places and art “. Born in Rimini, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and then moved to Milan, where she now lives and works, Lady Tarin began photographing for the fashion world while, since 2008, she embarks on an artistic itinerary that leads her to create works dedicated to the female world, enhancing its most intimate essence. From that moment she starts that personal research with the idea of identification between artist and subject at the center which leads her to reveal the sensual and psychological component of the women portrayed. And that she finds a new declination in the project Art Tales
.

“With the new Xiaomi 12 series we had a very clear goal, that is to demonstrate how a smartphone was able to create very high quality photos and videos – says Davide Lunardelli, Head of Marketing of Xiaomi Italia -. The results exceeded all expectations, as demonstrated by Lady Tarin’s exhibition, which welcomed our proposal to shoot exclusively digitally using Xiaomi 12 Pro. A further example of how the combination of visual art and technology can be increasingly the driving forceof cultural and impactful projects for the general public “. A journey animated by the desire to extract and represent (with a new technology) the energy that reigns in Venice during the days of the Biennale vernissages, in search of an emotional connection to the viewer.
