Lakshmi Narayan Sharma, Jhansi: Such a story has come to light about the liquor mafia of Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh, in which they were running a network of making and selling illegal liquor in a filmy style. These mafias used to make fake liquor by importing spirit from nearby states. With the help of fake wrappers, fake bottles and fake lids, they used to pack this fake liquor and sell it from government licensed liquor shops. Police have arrested four people involved in this network. Shishupal Singh, an inspector of Excise Department, has been suspended in this case.

This entire matter came to light when Prem Nagar police station, while checking on the Madhya Pradesh border, recovered a can of OP Spirit while searching a car near Dagaria. Police arrested the driver Dinesh Rai. On the basis of information received from Dinesh, they raided the place located in Baragaon police station area, where a machine was kept to make spurious liquor. The spurious liquor made from here was being sold with the help of a salesman at a government contract located in Moth police station area. Apart from Dinesh Rai, the police have arrested Ashok Kumar Rajput, Vivek Kushwaha and Rajendra Rai. So far four people associated with the network have been arrested.

12 boxes were recovered from them, in which each box contained 45 quarters. Apart from these, 192 more quarters have been recovered. Police have recovered 6 jerry cans, each containing 50 liters of liquor. A jar full of spirit has been recovered. 300 empty quarters kept in a sack have been recovered. 7000 lids of quarters, 4896 wrappers, 5184 QR codes, native machine for sealing lids, two dryers for sealing lids with foil, foil for sealing lids about 500 grams, 5 empty bottles of Chuski Lemon flavor, one Chuski lemon flavor Half full and one bottle of color have been recovered.

SSP Rajesh S said that four people have been arrested but there are more people involved in this gang. This work was going on for about two months. People from other districts and states are also included in the gang. Information has been sought from the Excise Department as to how much the sales have decreased. We are finding out from where the spirit was being brought.

Brand named ‘Dil Se’ and ‘Rasbhari’
This will enable us to know what quantity was being made. These people used to make liquor by mixing water and color in spirit. The alcohol percentage in it is 70 percent which is normally 46 percent. This is completely country liquor, in which these people were making liquor using two brand names – ‘Dil Se’ and ‘Rasbhari’. Gangster action will be taken against everyone involved in this gang.
