The Major Division of Colombian Football (DIMAYOR), led by its President Fernando Jaramillo, issued a forceful rejection of the threats and acts of intimidation directed at various actors in Colombian professional football in recent days.

In an official statement, DIMAYOR and its 36 affiliated clubs expressed their repudiation of the violent harassment suffered by managers of teams such as Atlético Nacional and Once Caldas DAF, as well as by players, coaches and referees from different professional football institutions in the country.

The sports entity made an emphatic call for healthy coexistence in the football field, urging all followers to enjoy the celebration of sport without resorting to violence. They emphasized that football should be a reason for joy and unity, and not an excuse to generate confrontations or violent acts.

Likewise, DIMAYOR rejected the formulation of threats against the life of any person related to football activity or their families. They stressed that these actions have no justification and must be vigorously repudiated.

Finally, The sports entity requested the competent authorities to carry out the pertinent investigations to identify those responsible for these threats and intimidating acts, taking the corresponding legal actions against those who are inciting this wave of violence.

The president of the Atlético Nacional club, Mauricio Navarro, and its executive vice president, Benjamín Romero, have received intimidating messages via WhatsApp and Instagram that are being investigated by the authorities.
