Two persons, including a patient in an ambulance, were killed on the spot when a 108 ambulance collided with a private bus near Vedasandur.
A 108 ambulance carrying patients for further treatment from Vedasandur Government Hospital in Dindigul District to Dindigul Government Hospital collided with a roadside bus near Vittalnayakanpatti.
Of these, two died on the spot, including patient Palanichamy, who was in the 108 ambulance. Another 108 motorists fortunately survived and four others, including a paramedic, were rescued with serious injuries and admitted to the Dindigul Government Hospital for treatment.
