The IPL series, which started in India on March 26, is now nearing its final stage. With a total of 74 matches in the series, 70 matches have been completed with only 4 matches remaining in the play – off round. Accordingly, the IPL series will end on the 29th. Then from June 9 to 19, India will play a five-match T20 series against South Africa.
The Indian team for the series was selected by the BCCI yesterday. The senior players who have been playing in the Indian team for a long time have been given a chance to retire and many players who have shown great performance in the IPL series. Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik, who was recently left out of the Indian squad, has returned to the team after a gap of three years.

This is because wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has been successfully finishing matches for the Bangalore team with his superb action. Due to this, he has been selected in the Indian team for this T20 series at a time when there is a demand among the fans to see him as the finisher of the Indian team.
While Dinesh Karthik’s selection to play for India is a happy thing, on the other hand, it has been reported that he will not get a chance in the playing eleven in even one match in the five – match T20 series. Because the Indian team currently selected has three wicket-keeper batsmen. Especially KL Rahul, Ishant Kishan and Rishabh Pund are wicket-keepers.

Rahul has been appointed as the captain and Rishabh Pund as the vice-captain of the Indian team and both of them will definitely play in these five matches. Ishant Kishan is more likely to play as a starter as well. Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Hooda will play in the middle order. Similarly, all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who recently returned to form, will be the 6th player to play.

Thus, it is difficult for Dinesh Karthik to get a chance in the middle order. As far as bowling is concerned, the Indian team will be fielding with two spinners and three fast bowlers, so it seems that Dinesh Karthik will not have a chance to play for the Indian team and he will most likely have to sit on the bench.
