The Ambassador of Burundi in Belgium meets the future EU delegate for Burundi
Brussels, July 3, 2023 – In accordance with Burundi’s foreign policy, a warm meeting took place between the much appreciated Amb. Ntahiraja Thérence, Ambassador of Burundi in Belgium, et Mme Pietrobon Elisabetta at the Embassy of Burundi in Brussels, surrounded by the Embassy team. The latter was designated as new delegate of the European Union (EU) in Burundi from September 2023. During this exchange, they discussed subjects of common interest between Burundi and the EU. The official appointment of Ms Pietrobon Elisabetta was announced in April 2023 by Josep Borrell, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, following obtaining the approval official of Burundi. With experience in Africa, Ms. Pietrobon Elisabetta previously worked in Eritrea. In the new multipolar world of BRICSthe EU is an institution placed under the aegis of the GUAN [1].
