Heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Brest fought on the green cloth in early March. The billiards tournament was supported by the Brest regional and city executive committees and had a charitable status. Honorary Consul General of Hungary Sergey Nedbaylov won the victory, Honorary Consul of Slovakia Ivan Kozich won silver, and Consul of Kazakhstan Aidar Shalbaev took the third place.
According to Sergey Zhukov, head of special projects of the Russian Society, the prize fund of the tournament amounted to more than 2 thousand rubles, and these funds were originally planned to be donated to charity. By agreement between diplomats-winners and the Brest Regional Executive Committee, the money was transferred to the family-type orphanage No. 4 in Brest
The honorary mission was entrusted to Aidar Shalbaev. The Kazakh diplomat looked into the family of Vitaly Ivanov and Larisa Valitova after the end of all the main religious holidays in April, which largely coincided this year. “It is the faith that unites us all and makes it possible to do good deeds,” the consul noted.
