Brazil, which currently chairs the UN Security Council, has convened a new meeting of this body for Friday to address the situation in the Gaza Strip, the Foreign Ministry announced Wednesday evening. The head of Brazilian diplomacy Mauro Vieira interrupted a tour of Asia to go to New York, “in order to participate in a meeting of the United Nations Security Council, convened by Brazil for Friday, October 13, in order to address the situation in the Gaza Strip,” the ministry said in a statement.
