Like every month, in July, the Social Security Administration (SSA) sends money to different beneficiaries, such as retired workers, survivors. It also mandates disability payments, which include the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI).
SSA has already sent some payments for this month and will continue to send missing payments. We explain how much money is sent on average and what payments are sent on July 19.
Social Security checks: how much money is being sent in 2023?
Thanks to the 8.7% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) increase, average retiree payments rose to $1,827, the SSA revealed in January. The maximum benefit for those who retire at age 62 is $2,572 per month, $3,627 for workers who retire at full retirement age (67), and $4,555 for those who retire at age 70 or later.
Average Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments, on the other hand, are around $550 a month. The maximum monthly SSI benefit is up to $914 for an individual and $1,371 for a married couple where both spouses are eligible for the program.
$1,800 Social Security Payments on July 19: Who Will Get It?
Based on the schedule established by SSA, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits are generally sent on the first day of each month. However, on some occasions, if the first day of the month falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the payment is advanced to the last Friday of the previous month.
On the other hand, on the 3rd of each month, the SSA sends the money to those who began receiving their Social Security payments before May 1997. If the third day of the month falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the payment is also advanced.

The rest of the checks are sent every Wednesday, according to the date of birth of the beneficiaries:

Taking into account the previous schedule, on July 3, the SSA already sent the payment of the beneficiaries who began to receive their payments before May 1997. Why aren’t Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments sent out in July?
Recipients of the SSI program receive their payments on the first day of each month; however, if the first day of the month falls on a weekend, payments are sent in advance. This happens in July.
Because the first day of July fell on a Saturday, this month’s SSI payment was brought forward and mailed on June 30. That is why SSI recipients received two payments in June, but have no payments scheduled in July.
