Degradations in Lyon following Emmanuel Macron’s speech
If Emmanuel Macron’s speech was poorly received everywhere in France, it was particularly so in Lyon.
Several incidents occurred shortly after 9 p.m. after a rally in front of City Hall. A group of individuals forced a door of the town hall of the 1st arrondissement on the sidelines of a wild demonstration before entering the building and tagging the walls of the entrance. Others set fire to the front of the municipal police station in the same borough and a fire broke out in the basement of an adjoining building.
During this demonstration, many throwing of projectiles and firing of fireworks targeted the police who then responded by firing tear gas. Two police officers were injured during the evening.

Employers’ organizations at the Elysée
The three main employers’ organizations have announced that they will meet this morning at the Elysee Palace with Emmanuel Macron, who is addressing the French on Monday evening after enacting the very controversial pension reform.
The Medef, the Confederation of SMEs (CPME) and the Union of local businesses (U2P), which represents craftsmen and liberal professions, will be received together at 11 a.m.
Also invited to the Elysée Palace, all the trade union organizations of employees had rejected the invitation, after having unsuccessfully demanded from the President of the Republic a “period of decency” before enacting the pension reform, validated Friday for the essential by the Constitutional Council.
