In a speech at the start of a meeting of the Government Council, Mr. Akhannouch noted that this operation, which is taking place under better conditions, has seen a large influx of Moroccan families, with more than 2.9 million requests registered to date on the direct social assistance platform www.asd.ma.

More than 64% of the requests concern monthly allowances for children in and out of school, while 34% others concern lump sum aid (500 dirhams) and 273% concern birth bonuses, noted the head of government.

He recalled that families who submitted their applications after December 10 will receive the December and January payments at the end of January, reassuring all citizens regarding access to this historic royal construction site, because families still have the opportunity to submit their applications to benefit from the amount of aid if they meet the eligibility conditions.

He stressed, in this sense, that the year 2024 will be the year of the continuation of the implementation of the various strategic projects and of all government programs and particularly the strengthening of the pillars of the social State.

This is how, in accordance with the high Royal guidelines during the working session chaired by His Majesty on October 17, 2023, the government began in January the effective launch of the direct housing assistance program, by paving the way for the reception of applications through the digital platform “DAAM SAKANE”, launched at the beginning of the month, underlined Mr. Akhannouch.

This program, he recalled, aims to facilitate access to housing for low-income and middle-class citizens, reduce the housing deficit, accelerate the pace of the “Cities without slums” program, increase the housing supply, boost the housing sector and promote the private sector.

“Launched just last week, the housing assistance programme has seen a large turnout from large sections of society who have submitted more than 16,000 applications on the digital platform reserved for this purpose,” the head of government stressed.

The preliminary processing of these requests showed that 89% are eligible for this program, as indicated on Tuesday by the Minister of National Territorial Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and Urban Policy, noted Mr. Akhannouch, stressing that this new program will benefit both Moroccan citizens residing in Morocco and those established abroad (MRE), which reflects the centrality of MRE in government programs.

Mr. Akhannouch called on all government departments to continue their work and increase their efforts to continue implementing the various social and strategic projects that will have a positive impact on the lives of citizens and contribute to the development of Morocco.

He reiterated, on this occasion, the government’s commitment to continue the reform of the education system to ensure its quality and equity according to the provisions of the government program, noting that “the government has ensured to increase the frequency of meetings with social partners, which continued without stopping until Monday and the positive interaction with the demands of teachers, which are at the center of the reform of the education system capable of serving the best interests of the student.”

The head of government indicated that efforts are continuing and that the government is in the final stages of this dialogue, before presenting the new status of civil servants in the national education sector to members of the government, upon examination of the last points presented by the trade unions. This status reflects the demands of the teachers’ body and everything that has been achieved within the framework of the sectoral dialogue, he stressed.

Furthermore, Mr. Akhannouch stressed that the declaration of the Amazigh New Year as an official national and paid holiday, in accordance with a high decision of HM King Mohammed VI, reflects the high Royal will which has enabled the Kingdom to take important steps in this area over the last twenty years and represents a victory for Amazigh as an essential component of the Moroccan identity rich in the diversity of its tributaries, as it reflects the seriousness which drives the government for the implementation of the official character of Amazigh, concluded the head of government.
