Several thousand people marched on Saturday for the traditional Easter weekend peace marches in Germany, marked like last year by the war in Ukraine, according to the organizers. The largest protest brought together nearly 2,000 people in Berlin, according to the German Peace Movement Network. In Hanover (less than 300 kilometers west of the German capital), they were around 1,200, said a spokesman for the movement, Kristian Golla. Smaller demonstrations took place across the country. In total, participation in these marches was equivalent to last year, Golla said.
