Berlin hands over two Patriot air defense systems to kyiv
The German government on Wednesday announced the handover of the latest military aid package to Ukraine, which includes two Patriot air defense system launchers. Berlin had promised them at the NATO summit in Vilnius on July 11. Also delivered were 100 MG5 machine guns, 40,000 first aid kits, explosive ordnance disposal equipment, binoculars and safety goggles, according to The Kyiv Independent.
Russia says it shot down 13 Ukrainian drones near Crimea and Moscow
Moscow claims to have shot down 13 Ukrainian drones, including 11 near Crimea and two heading towards Moscow.
“Two drones that were flying towards the city of Moscow were destroyed,” the Russian Defense Ministry said on Telegram.
Furthermore, in Crimea, “near the city of Sevastopol, two drones were hit by anti-aircraft defense devices in service, nine others were neutralized by electronic warfare means and crashed into the Black Sea before hit the target,” according to the Department of Defense.
