Louis van Gaal does not take risks and starts without his best offensive element, Memphis Depay, who is coming out of a lesion in the femoral biceps of the left thigh which has kept him away from the field for two months. The Dutch boss even hinted that the Barca striker won’t play this first meeting at all, but Depay has recovered from the injury anyway and, depending on the scenario, he could come on.

Koulibaly boss size?
In the absence of Sadio Mané, he will be the real boss of Senegal. Born near the Vosges, Kalidou Koulibaly rubbed shoulders with the Metz training center and could have chosen France. But today, he is indeed the boss of the defense of the Lions of Teranga, and one of the great architects of the coronation of his country during the last CAN. Transferred this summer from Naples to Chelsea, after eight seasons in Italy, he established himself as an indisputable starter for the 2021 European champions. Often underrated, Koulibaly is still one of the best defenders in the world.

The Dutch return to the World Cup after missing 2018
Senegal will try to get out of this group and qualify for the round of 16 of a World Cup for the first time since 2002. For their part, the Netherlands are returning to the competition after missing that of 2018.
