Director and actor E. Ramadoss dies of heart attack

Chennai: Famous film director, scriptwriter and character actor E. Ramadoss (66) died due to heart attack. Freedom fighter Ethirajulu Pillai from Villupuram, E. Ramadas, son of Parkavanam couple, got acquainted with director Manophala and worked as an assistant director in several films for director Manivannan. In 1986, Mohan made his directorial debut in the film ‘Aairam Pooke Malarattom’ starring Seetha.

E. Ramadoss, who worked as one of the 14 directors of ‘Raja Rajathan’ starring Ramarajan, ‘Nenjam Undu Neermai Undu’, Mansoor Ali Khan’s ‘Iravanan’, ‘Jiyuga Demokratam’ and ‘Suyamvaram’ which was shot in 23 hours and 58 minutes for the Guinness World Record, was completed in 1980. He wrote a song for the film ‘Karaadi’. Later, he wrote story and dialogues for many films including ‘Pon Pravina’, ‘Ellaichami’, ‘Rajamuthrai’, ‘Makkal Kakkal’, ‘Anthappuram’, ‘Ethirum Puthirum’, ‘Sangamam’, ‘Kanda Naan Satu’.

In 2004, he acted as a hospital ward boy in the Kamal Haasan starrer ‘Vasoolraja MBBS’, followed by ‘Yudtam Sey’, ‘Khaki Sattai’, ‘Vikram Veda’, ‘Dharmadurai’, ‘Aram’, ‘Aan Devathai’, ‘Collisoda’, ‘Mari 2’. He acted in many films including He grabbed the attention of fans by playing a police officer in the movie ‘Visaranai’. In this case, E. Ramadoss, who was admitted to the private hospital in Chennai due to ill health, died yesterday night due to a sudden heart attack.

After that, the film fraternity and the public paid their last respects to his body, which was kept at his house in KK Nagar. Last evening, the funeral of E. Ramadoss took place at Nesappakkam Cemetery. E. Ramadas has a wife and 2 sons.
