The Brazilian Sound and Image Editing agency for Film and Television “Confraria de Sons & Charutos” decided to fire one of its collaborators involved in the sexual abuse scandal that has shaken the International School of Film and Television (EICTV) in San Antonio de los Baños.

Although the agency’s statement does not directly mention the individual involved, it is believed to be Ayrton Paul, a composer, sound engineer and guitarist in training who studied at EICTV and collaborated with the agency on joint projects.

The dismissal was announced through the agency’s profile on the social network Instagram, where they stated that they will not have the services of this person in current or future projects.

This action comes after allegations of sexual abuse that came to light thanks to a report by the independent magazine El Estornudo.

According to the report, Paul did not attend his graduation at EICTV, and his degree was picked up by other students amid complaints from attendees.

The Brazilian agency deeply regretted the events and reaffirmed its commitment to the fight against gender violence, highlighting that sexual offenders can be found in any social environment.

They expressed their solidarity with the victims of violence on EICTV and stressed the importance of eradicating this type of behavior.

This dismissal adds to the growing pressure on EICTV after journalist Mario Luis Reyes revealed chilling testimonies of sexual abuse in the institution.

The report uncovered a pattern of violations, abuse and harassment, as well as alleged institutional negligence on the part of the school’s management.

These accusations have plunged EICTV into a deep crisis, questioning its reputation for academic excellence in the Latin American film field.
