“I think it would have been nice if Seon-gyun hyung were here.”

Director Kim Tae-gon, who directed the film ‘Escape: Project Silence’, said this while thinking of actor Lee Sun-kyun, who passed away last December. A press preview of the film was held in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 8th. ‘Escape: Project Silence’ is one of Lee Sun-kyun’s two posthumous works.

Director Kim said, “It would have been great if Seon-gyun hyung was here,” and “Since it takes place on a bridge, it was necessary to understand not only all the devices but also the space. When Seon-gyun hyung was preparing the movie, he talked a lot about the movement and the emotions of the characters, which I had missed.” He added, “I think we found the overall answer by asking and answering questions about each of those elements.”

This disaster thriller, starring Lee Sun-kyun, Joo Ji-hoon, and Kim Hee-won, tells the story of people becoming isolated and military test dogs being released when a collision occurs on the airport bridge in thick fog. Lee Sun-kyun plays ‘Jeong-won,’ an administrator at the National Security Office who is trapped on the airport bridge, Joo Ji-hoon plays ‘Jo Bak,’ a tow truck driver looking for a chance at success, and Kim Hee-won plays ‘Dr. Yang,’ a researcher who carries out a test dog project. Moon Sung-keun, Ye Soo-jung, Kim Tae-woo, Park Hee-von, Park Joo-hyun, and Kim Soo-an also star. The film opens on the 12th.
