Chennai: Tamil director M Thyagarajan has been found dead outside the AVM studio where he produced his hit film 30 years ago. Vijayakanth starrer Managara Kaval (1991) was AVM Studio’s 150th film. Thyagarajan also directed the movie Vetrimel Vetri starring Prabhu but it was not a huge success.
With the lack of opportunities in cinema, he was living in abject poverty. He lived by buying cheap food from the government canteen ‘Amma Unavakam’. He lived alone for a few years due to family problems. Thyagarajan studied at the Adyar Film Institute and became an independent director after working in various films.
