jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Directorate General of Immigration of the Republic of Indonesia has proposed the establishment of the ASEAN Heads of Major Immigration Checkpoints Forum (AMICF) Coordination Center.

The existence of AMICF is to improve the exchange of information and cooperation at major immigration checkpoints throughout ASEAN member countries.

In this way, the exchange of information is more structured and coordinated so that it can respond more quickly to emerging threats. This system can also simplify services at immigration checkpoints.

The AMICF Coordination Center uses a virtual platform for training resources and accessing emerging trends in immigration and border control.

Immigration officials of each member country can share passenger information to improve border protection.

The use of AMICF Coordination Center technology also enables member country immigration officers to quickly identify and address irregular human movements.

The Directorate General of Immigration also conveyed three developments specifically in immigration inspections, namely a new passenger profile information system, the latest autogate technology, and developments in digital forensics.

In addition, the Directorate General of Immigration has also developed an immigration inspection mechanism when passengers have not yet arrived in Indonesia.
