Kochi: In Muvattupuzha, during an inspection conducted by the Municipal Health Department at food distribution centers, about 50 kg of old chicken was caught from a hotel alone. The stale chicken was seized from a running chick at the Grand Center Mall. Stale food items were seized from the Buns & Beans Hotel near the Latha bus stand on the Thodupuzha-Muvattupuzha road.
Health Inspector Ashraf said the grill on which the chicken was cooked was dirty and the staff did not have a health card. Old beef, chicken, fish, fruits, fresh cream, kubboos and mayonnaise were also seized from the buns and beans.
Officials said the inspections would continue vigorously in the interest of public health. The inspections were led by Municipal Health Supervisor Sahadevan, Health Inspector Ashraf and Junior Health Inspector Nitya.
