Arriving in 2012 at an insurer on the outskirts of Bordeaux (Gironde) to do a few hours of cleaning, Blandine Malgras, 49, today manages a portfolio of 90 deaf clients, like her. She overcame this handicap thanks to the support of her agency director to learn the job of contract manager. Better still, this dynamic woman transformed it into an asset for her employer, thus developing in her agency Abeille Assurances a new service totally dedicated to people with deafness. There are 300,000 of them in our country, 34% of whom are inactive, due to difficulties in accessing employment and leisure, according to the National Federation of the Deaf of France (FNSF).

“Blandine is the daughter of a client,” says Dominique Dumas, independent Abeille Assurances agent in Villenave-d’Ornon (Gironde). I was looking for someone to clean the offices and I hired her to do it once a week. » At the same time, the young woman, who holds a CAP in seamstress, had worked in a law firm since the age of 19. “She prepared files for the lawyers there,” explains Dominique, translating Blandine’s gestures.
