London: Pierre Emerick Obamayang has been sacked as Arsenal captain by the English Premier League club following a disciplinary violation.
Coach Michael Arteta has announced that the player will not be in the squad for Wednesday’s match against West Ham.
The problems were caused by the delay in the return of Obamayang, who had gone on a private leave to France for a holiday granted by the club. With this, the player could not play in the match against Southampton on Saturday.
This is not the first time the player has taken such a leave of absence and is late to join the team. Earlier last March, there was a similar disciplinary violation from the player. The player arrived late for the team meeting before the match against Tottenham that day. With this, the player was not playing at that time.
