Gohar Ejaz said that the payment made to these most expensive IPPs is 1.95 trillion rupees, the government is paying 140 billion rupees to one plant at 15% load factor, and 120 billion rupees to another plant at 17% load factor. 100 billion rupees are being paid to the third power plant at 22% load factor, only 370 billion rupees have been paid to three power plants, these power plants are running at 15% load factor throughout the year.
The former federal minister said that due to the IPPs agreements, the power plants are getting heavy payments, the government only buys electricity from the cheapest electricity providers, these plants are 52% owned by the government, 28% of the power plants are owned by the private sector of Pakistan. Power plants are owned by 80% Pakistanis, we are being sold electricity at 60 rupees per unit.
Gohar Ejaz said it is only because of these corrupt contracts, mismanagement and incompetence, everyone should rise against these agreements with 40 families to save their country, now I leave it to the nation to decide on IPPs. do
