Discover Airlines will start nonstop flights from Frankfurt to Edmonton and Belize City in 2027, take over Lufthansa’s Seattle routes from Frankfurt and Munich, and expand its Munich-based fleet.
The Lufthansa Group leisure carrier mapped out its 2027 expansion schedule to cover Canadian prairies, Central American shores, and Pacific Northwest routes previously flown by its parent company.
Discover Airlines Sets 2027 Launch Dates For Frankfurt to Edmonton and Belize City
Service from Frankfurt Airport to Edmonton will begin on June 1, 2027, operating three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. This new route makes Discover Airlines the only carrier providing nonstop flights between Germany and the capital of Alberta.
Edmonton joins Calgary and Halifax as the airline’s third Canadian destination, giving passengers the ability to construct circular itineraries across the country.
Later in the year, the carrier will inaugurate seasonal flights to Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport in Belize City. Operations will start on December 16, 2027, and run through mid-April 2028, aligning with the dry season in Central America. The flight runs twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays, establishing the airline as the first European airline to serve Belize.
Discover Airlines Takes Over Seattle Routes And Grows Munich Fleet
Discover Airlines will take over flights to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport from both Frankfurt and Munich starting in late March 2027. These connections are currently operated by Lufthansa and offer up to daily service from both hubs. Passengers holding existing reservations will experience no changes to their itineraries, with reservation systems processing updates automatically.
To support the Seattle network transfer and an increase in Windhoek services to five weekly flights, the leisure carrier will add a new Airbus A330-300 to its Munich-based fleet in March 2027. This addition brings the total aircraft count at the Munich base to 10.
Tickets for Edmonton and Seattle Go on Sale
Tickets for the Edmonton and Seattle segments are already on sale through Discover Airlines, Lufthansa, tour operators, and travel agencies. Reservations for the seasonal Belize City route will open in mid-December.
