Once upon a time, there was the blacksmith, the craftsman who primarily practices the ancient art of shoeing horses. This profession is dedicated to the latest episode of the third season of “I Mestieri di Mirko,” a production by Rai Contenuti Digitali e Transmediali, airing exclusively on RaiPlay from Monday, July 29. Matteucci experienced an intense and formative day under the guidance of industry experts who taught him how to shoe a horse: how to prepare the hoof, choose the right iron, and apply it correctly, emphasizing the importance of this practice for the health and well-being of this wonderful animal. Benedetta Massetani, a young and passionate manager of the equestrian center in Campo di Carne, in the province of Latina, introduced Matteucci to the daily routine of horse care – from stall cleaning to diet management – also teaching him the necessary activities to keep them healthy. An exciting moment of the day was the meeting with Fernando Marcotulli – an experienced instructor of inclusive riding – who explained to the host how horses, capable of easily interacting with their riders, can become real therapists and help people improve their quality of life.
