The Minister of Economy and Trade in the Government of National Unity, Mohammed Al-Huwaij, held a meeting with a delegation from the Chinese Enterprises Federation.
The meeting reviewed “promising investment opportunities in the fields of industry and agriculture, in addition to strategic projects to develop infrastructure in the sectors of ports, airports, hospitals, and renewable energy, which are characterised by high investment returns and sustainable growth potential.”
The Chinese delegation was briefed on the Libyan Investment Law, the advantages and incentives granted to investors, and many services, such as the one-stop shop services provided by the General Authority for Investment Promotion and Privatization Affairs affiliated with the Ministry.
Al-Huwaij stressed that “the investment sector is witnessing remarkable activity in various fields, as he called in his speech on the delegation of Chinese companies to enter the Libyan market and actually begin implementing investment projects under the supervision and follow-up of the Authority and related institutions.”
For its part, the Chinese delegation stressed “the desire of companies and investors to enter the Libyan market and establish projects through the participation of the local private sector, and to target the African market.”
The delegation included the Federation President, the Executive Director, and a number of representatives of affiliated Chinese companies, in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Investment Promotion and Privatization Affairs, and the General Manager of the National Investment Company.
