Under the auspices of the Ministry of Local Government of the Government of National Unity, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) organized, at the “Redson Blue” Hotel in Tripoli, today, Sunday, a celebration of the closing of the “Ziraa” project.
According to the Ministry, “The project aims to enable municipalities to enhance agricultural development aspects and develop modern agricultural capabilities, methods, and technologies, in partnership and cooperation with the European Union, the ICU organization, and the Kafaa Foundation, and in the presence of the municipalities of Ubari, Murzuq, Sabha, and Rabianah within the “My Municipality” project.
The Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Local Administration delivered a speech on behalf of the Minister of Local Government, Badr al-Din al-Toumi, in which he expressed his “thanks and appreciation to the teams implementing the “Ziraa” project and those responsible for its success and achieving its goals.”
He stressed that “the project strengthens a set of foundations, namely achieving sustainable development by enabling municipalities to manage their competencies, in addition to strengthening the Ministry’s successful and fruitful partnerships with its international partners in developing the development aspect, which the National Unity Government sees as the most important foundation for achieving stability and development.”
He explained that “the “Ziraa” project comes as a continuation of the agricultural empowerment plan and support for small and medium-sized family and family projects, women and youth, which the National Unity Government is pursuing to enable municipalities to carry out their responsibilities in all efficiency and effectiveness, and to support spatial development.”
The celebration was attended by the Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Local Administration, “Abu Bakr Al-Trabelsi,” the Director of the General Administration for Environmental Sanitation Affairs, “Ibrahim Bin Dakhil, and the Director of the Entrepreneurship Office, Akram Al-Makhzanji,” in addition to representatives of the municipalities of Ubari, Murzuq, Sebha, and Rabianah.
The ceremony witnessed “several speeches and presentations aimed at strengthening the partnership between the concerned parties and improving the level of agricultural development in the partner municipalities.”
