Discussion of improving the conditions of teaching assistants and faculty members at universities

The Council of Ministers of the Government of National Unity held a meeting to follow up on the directives of Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Dabaiba, “to address the conditions of teaching assistants and faculty members.”

The meeting discussed “settling the status of teaching assistants by implementing Cabinet Resolution No. 381 of 2024, regarding the regulation of the status of teaching assistants at universities and higher education institutions, in addition to giving them priority in scholarships granted to the Libyan state according to the required specializations.”

The activation of Resolution No. 533 of 2023 was also discussed, in accordance with the proposal submitted by the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Technical and Vocational Education, regarding excellence bonuses for performance for faculty members, in addition to organizing the study delegation file according to the controls regarding approved study areas and priority in implementation. An agreement was reached between the relevant ministries to intensify efforts to organize the conditions of teaching assistants and faculty members and to ensure the regularity of the educational process at all its stages in appreciation of our students in all cities and regions of our country.

The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical and Vocational Education, Finance, State for Cabinet Affairs, Chairman of the General Authority for Information, Dean of University Faculty Members, and a number of department directors at the Ministry of Higher Education and Finance.
