Discussions on the financial and economic situation of the Libyan state

The Chairman of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, discussed with the Chargé d’Affairs of the US Embassy in Libya, Jeremy Brent, the financial and economic situation of the country, the Bureau’s vision for confronting potential risks during the coming period, and ways to mitigate their severity and address their effects, in a way that ensures stability of the situation.

This came during a meeting held today, Sunday, at the headquarters of the Bureau in Tripoli, in the presence of the Interim Director of the United States Agency for International Development, Alison Noble, representatives of the US Treasury and State Departments, and officials from the agency, in addition to the Director of the General Administration of Sovereign Sector Control, and the Director of the General Administration of Human Resources at the Bureau.

The official Facebook page of the Audit Bureau reported that the meeting comes within the framework of strengthening the partnership between the Bureau and the US Agency.

During the meeting, ways to develop human resources and work guides were discussed, and the agreement signed between the Bureau and the Agency was extended for the next two years, to expand development operations and apply the supervisory work guides in their practical aspect.

The meeting also addressed the importance of oversight work at this stage, and raising the level of transparency and disclosure, by supporting the results and recommendations of the Bureau and enhancing its role in accountability and law enforcement.
