The Directorate of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has issued a notification regarding false and misleading propaganda by vested interests against the Bangladesh Army.

In the circular issued on Sunday (July 28), the Bangladesh Army requested the countrymen’s cooperation not to be confused by such misleading information and news.

It is said that the army has been deployed in their respective responsible areas since the morning of July 20 to provide overall security of public property and important government facilities in the deteriorating security situation across the country. The presence of the army along with other forces to control the law and order situation helped to quickly quell the anarchy.

It is also said that false and misleading propaganda is being carried out against the Bangladesh Army in various foreign media and social media by some vested interests. Its main purpose is supposed to tarnish the image of the army at home and abroad.

The Bangladesh Army is conducting operations with the help of the civilian administration to restore peace and security to the country’s lives and property under existing laws while upholding the country’s constitution.

Noting that the Bangladesh Army seeks the cooperation of the countrymen not to be confused by such misleading information and news of the self-interested circles, the circular also said that the Bangladesh Army is and will always be with the people in the interest of the people and in any need of the state.
