CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has dismissed the contempt of court petitions related to the AIADMK general committee and the additional petitions seeking ban on the general committee. Three additional petitions were filed in the appeal filed by general committee member Shanmugam regarding the AIADMK general committee. Among them, co-coordinator Edappadi Palaniswami, general committee members CV Shanmugam, T. Jayakumar, Dindigul Srinivasan and Tamilmahan Usain should be punished for contempt of court.

Therefore, it was requested to allow them to be included as respondents in the appeal case. These additional petitions came up for hearing yesterday in the session of Justices M. Duraisamy and Sundar Mohan. At that time, Edappadi Palanisamy filed an order issued by the Supreme Court imposing an interim stay on the hearing of Shanmugam’s appeal and the hearing of the contempt of court case. After reading this, the judges ordered that the three additional petitions be dismissed.
