Disney in Florida celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Latin American music

The parks of the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida (USA) will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month starting in September with performances by the Colombian duo Monsieur Periné, the international band Bacilos and the merengue stars Raúl Acosta and Oro Sólido, in addition to to have characters from the famous animated movie “Enchantment”.

According to a statement released this Wednesday, between September 15 and October 15, Walt Disney World Resort will offer different “experiences” to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

Visitors will be able to meet new characters, see musical performances and enjoy diverse cuisines throughout the 39-square-mile (103-square-kilometre) amusement complex.

Mirabel and her uncle Bruno, from “Encanto”, the Walt Disney Animation Studios film, are the new characters that arrive at the Magic Kingdom theme park.

There, Bruno will join other characters such as Princess Elena of Avalor; the animated character José Carioca, and Miguel, from “Coco”, while Mirabel will welcome visitors to her “her house”.

Plus, fans will be able to say hello to Mirabel year-round at the theme park.

On the other hand, Disney announced, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival event hosts three presentations by Latin American artists that will make “their debut at the festival” during Hispanic Heritage Month.

They are the Colombian duo Monsieur Periné, who will take the stage at the America Gardens Theater on September 15; Dominican Republic merengue stars Raúl Acosta and Oro Sólido (September 16 and 17), and the international band Bacilos (with performances on September 18).

Bacilos is an American Latin pop band formed in Miami in 1997 with Latin American musicians.

They were later joined by the Venezuelan band Los Amigos Invisibles (from September 22 to 24).

Visitors will also be able to find flavors from cuisines “of a wide range”, from countries such as Mexico, Brazil and Spain in the EPCOT International Food & Wine International Festival space, which will take place until November 18.

“A party is never complete without tasty treats and sensational sips,” the statement states.

“Walt Disney World honors Latin American cultures throughout the year with numerous immersive interactions and dining experiences,” he added.
