This move comes after Disney was outraged and opposed legislation that limits gender and sexuality studies in the schools on its territory. Prior to De Santis’ signature, a law was passed in the Florida State Senate and was approved by a majority of 23 in favor against 16 against and it was also approved in Congress by a majority of 70 in favor against 38 against.

The area where Walt Disney’s theme park is located is called the Reedy Creek Improvement District and was created in 1967 and granted Disney an exemption from taxes and exemption from many state regulations. For example, Disney benefited from the lack of bureaucracy and built four theme parks, two water parks, a sports complex and hotels, all without considering the regulation of the state of Florida.
