Valparai: Annanagar (Ceylon Colony) is situated in the center of Valparai city. Here, there are more than 500 houses. Last year, when it rained heavily, the stairs, walkways and retaining walls collapsed. People are suffering because the municipal administration is not coming forward to provide basic facilities in Anna Nagar.
People said:
The authorities are negligent in providing basic amenities in the residential area. During last year’s rains, the broken pavement, retaining wall, canal etc. were not repaired.
The municipality does not provide the basic facilities required for the residential area. Before the onset of rainy season, steps should be taken to build a barrier in Anna Nagar. Thus, they said.
