In El Plateado, in the town of Argelia, Cauca, the FARC dissidents acknowledged their responsibility in the murder of the child Dylan Camilo. In a meeting with the community, the dissidents observed a minute of silence in memory of the deceased minor.
The drone attack that claimed Dylan’s life and left 15 injured took place on the town’s synthetic field. This Thursday, the community, still in shock from the events, gathered to pay tribute to the victims. Among those present was alias Giovanny, identified as the leader of the group responsible for the attack.

The news of the meeting and the request for silence by the dissidents has generated a wave of indignation in the Cauca community.The population has strongly rejected both the murder of the child and the attitude of the dissidents, who have tried to appease a community already devastated by the tragedy.
The self-proclaimed ‘Comandante Jacobo Arenas Western Bloc of the FARC-EP’ issued a statement in which they described Dylan’s death as an accident that “will not be forgotten.” They expressed their solidarity with the family and also asked the population to reject “false documents circulating in the name of the Carlos Patiño Front” and avoid “promoting panic among their communities.”
