This contribution was made by distributing 400 packages of basic necessities to residents around the cemetery area located in Karawang, West Java.

The Al Azhar Memorial Garden Committee, Nugroho Adiwiwoho, said that the distribution of basic necessities was a routine activity carried out ahead of Ramadan.

Apart from that, this routine activity, continued Nugroho, is also a form of gratitude and thanks for the prayers and support of local residents for the existence of the Muslim cemetery.

“It is hoped that this activity can contribute to helping the community in the cemetery area amidst the current soaring prices of basic necessities. Apart from that, this activity is also a form of our concern so that the existence of the Al Azhar Memorial Garden can be felt by the benefits for local residents,” said Nugroho in his statement after distributing staples at Al Azhar Memorial Garden, Karawang, West Java, Tuesday (12/3).

He said Al Azhar Memorial Garden had carried out activities to distribute basic food aid which is usually done during the fasting month or ahead of Eid al-Fitr. Especially when Indonesia was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The package of basic ingredients prepared contains 5 kilograms of rice, 1 liter of cooking oil. Then sugar, instant noodles, syrup and canned fish.

The Al Azhar Memorial Garden Muslim Cemetery itself has an area of ​​25 hectares and was built in 2011. The designed capacity is 29,000 bodies with a beautiful landscape concept so it doesn’t seem scary.
